The ILL Itches - "The ILL Itches" LP
Welding the scuzzy guitar tone of early Stooges records with the scuzzy gospel of a defrocked evangelical minister, The ILL Itches are a rock ‘n’ roll band from Detroit. The quartet’s unconventional dual-frontmen attack consists of Stephen Schmidt (punk guitar) and Matt Mruzek (funk bass) sharing lead vocal duties, while Josh Woodcock (rhythm guitar) and Matt Livengood (drumming drums) keep all chaos in order. After forming in early 2013, the band rapidly established themselves as one of the Motor City’s most unique and incendiary live acts, earning them opening slots for the likes of Dead Kennedys, The Buzzcocks and Stiff Little Fingers. The ILL Itches have also completed a brief U.S. tour, sold out all copies of their two initial 7” vinyl single pressings and been featured on multiple “best of” radio playlists featuring active Detroit-based bands. Hallelujah.
This is the ILL Itches' debut album with twelve tracks of solid rock 'n' roll, no holds barred.
